Richard and
Sylvia Dixon moved to Canada from England in May 1994 to run
Beasley Farms Sport Horses.
In England,
Richard worked as an engineer and also as a landscape
gardener. He obtained a diploma in carpet gardening as
shown in the photo below. Richard married Sylvia in March of
1994. He now hunts and shows horses on the line at major
shows as well as looking after the 135 acre farm. He gardens
at 3 different locations.
Sylvia Dixon has worked
with horses for 30 years. In England, her horsemanship was
obtained through hunting, breaking and training racehorses
and show horses, driving and producing Arabs and ponies for
top level competition. Since coming to Canada, she has
produced horses 'for sales' and jumpers. Sylvia has been
breeding horses for 20 years and has a National Stud Diploma
as well as an Animal Science Diploma which was awarded in
1999 with highest honors.
We are now breeding Sport
Horses for jumper, dressage and eventing disciplines. Young
stock is always available for sale. Sylvia also breaks
ponies, teaches and is responsible for buying and selling.
